About the event
How can you tell what news to trust regarding what's happening in Ukraine?
Our May speaker, Scott Carnley, will be speaking to us about the history of the area and seeds of the conflict, and about how to understand and spot misinformation and disinformation campaigns.
Scott is a Consultant and Researcher who helps clients and audiences understand media manipulation and International Relations.
Before entering consulting, Scott worked for over 25 years in the Intelligence and Information Operations (PSYOP) community. After a successful career helping Agencies, campaigns and organizations examine messaging strategies, Scott now focuses on helping audiences understand how this manipulation occurs, and even drives foreign policy decisions.
In his spare time, Scott enjoys hobby gardening, reading and has an unfortunate addiction to caffeine and bad Science Fiction movies.
Scott is currently preparing to defend his Ph.D. Dissertation in National Security Policy. Scott holds an MA in History, BA in Psychology and Political Science and numerous certificates and certifications earned over the course of his career.
